Also, use the classwork tab in Google Classroom, your planner, and the class website to keep up with what you have to do and what you have completed. Be sure to complete assignments in order according to the class website and remember Google Classroom may not be in your order.

  1. Read Shackleton Chapter 9: Be sure to read each chapter carefully. You will have to answer questions and write a summary of each chapter.  *There is NO audible for this one.

Distance learners: Using Kami, answer each question.

  3. Shackleton Chapter 9 Index Card Summary Paragraph: On the blank side of the index card fold the card in half. On the front of the folded blank side draw a picture of what comes to your mind from this chapter. On the side of the index card with lines write a single paragraph with a topic sentence, at least 3 supporting detail sentences, and a concluding sentence to summarize the events that happened in this chapter. Distance Learners, please upload pictures. Cohort students will turn in at school.

  10. Shackleton Reflection: On the back of chapter 11 there is a reflection. If you need to look back in your book for answers you can. Cohort students will complete on paper. Distance learners: Using Kami, answer each question.

  11. Shackleton AR Test: Through Clever, log onto Renaissance and then, onto AR and search for the book. Once you find the book, take the AR test for this book. 

  12. Shackleton Project Assembly: Take two pieces of cardstock and tape them together. Like in the picture, glue in your index card chapter summaries/pictures. Then, write a final reflection index card with a picture on the front that you feel matches your reflection of the book. On the front cover, draw a picture of the book cover. On the back page, write a summary of the entire book. Remember a summary just focuses on the most important parts. On the inside write “SHACKLETON” like you see in the picture. Cohort students will do in class, Distance Learners please post pictures.

  1. Multiply Decimals Practice 3-4: Be sure to show your work. Answer the questions on Kami and then attach a picture of your work. Cohort A did this on Friday, and Cohort B and Distance learners will complete this assignment on Monday of this week.

  2. Multiply Patterns & Powers with Decimals Lesson: Introductory lesson into multiplication patterns and powers with decimals. This lesson will be in-person on Monday for Cohort A and Tuesday for Cohort B. Distance Learners will watch a video of this lesson on Tuesday.

  3. Multiply Patterns & Powers with Decimals Day 1: It is not necessary to show work on this assignment.
    All Cohort students will do this on paper. If you are a distance learner, answer the questions on Kami.

  6. STAR TESTING: Through Clever, log onto Renaissance and select STAR MATH. Be sure to show your work on paper. When you are finished with the math test please take the STAR READING test. Do your best and do not get help from anyone. You need to also be sure you read this test and not have anyone read any part of the test to you. Your results will not be accurate if you have help. Do not be discouraged if you do not know an answer, the test is designed to give you questions that are too hard until it figures out where you are. Cohorts A and B will do this in class, Distance learners will do this at home. YOU CAN NOT HAVE HELP OF ANY KIND ON STAR.

  1. Food Chains & Food Web Questions: Answer the questions to the best of your ability. If you need to look things up online you can. Cohort Students will do this on paper and Distance Learners will do this using Kami.

  2. Desk Food Webs: Using the cards, create a food web on your desk. You will use the dry erase marker to show the flow of energy.

  3. Food Web Project: Using the poster board select an ecosystem and create a food web based on the rubric. On the back of your project you will glue the rubric. Be sure to color your drawings and clearly label the required parts. Also, be sure to show the arrows with the correct flow of energy.

  4. McGraw Hill/Inspire:  Through Clever, log onto McGraw Hill/Inspire Science and complete the 2 assigned reading lessons titled, “Encounter the Phenomenon” and “CER Make Claims.” Be sure to read and answer all of the questions.

  1. Explorers Project: Continue working on the explorers project. These projects will be completed in class for Cohort students and at home for Distance Learners. Distance learners will turn these projects into the front office when they are complete. 

  2. Explorers NearPod:First go to Nearpod, enter the code G3RZX under where it says Students Join a Lesson. Click “join” after you have entered the code. Complete the activities to learn more about Early Explorers by playing the memory game.
