Work Samples

The samples below provide documented evidence of my teaching from a variety of sources.  My teaching is an ongoing process of inquiry, reflection, and experimentation.  I believe that it is extremely important to continue learning and improving upon my teaching practices and not become stagnant.

LESSON PLANNING SAMPLES

Lesson planning is a viral component of the teaching and learning process.  I have found the better prepared I am in my planning, the easier it is for me to handle the unexpected and adapt my plans accordingly.

  1. Formal Observation Lesson Plan

  2. Yearly Plans

  3. Day-by-Day Long Range Plan (Made in Collaboration with PFMS math Teachers)

OBSERVATION & TEST SCORES FOR TVAAS GROWHT MEASURE

  • 2014-15 & 2015-16 Teacher Value Added Growth Index

DATA DRIVEN & INDIVIDUALIZED INSTRUCTION

Through a continuous cycle of assessment, analysis, and action I use various tools to increase student success and customize their learning.

  • Benchmark Item Analysis                                                                         (Prior to STAR and DEA benchmarks with customizable diagnostic report options I made this analysis chart.  I would highlight problems missed by each student.  The most commonly missed items would be reviewed as a class.  Further intervention and enrichment were then planned based upon individual student analysis.)

  • Individualized RTI Plans                                                                                       (Based on analysis results students would have a personalized report and individualized assignments based on their areas of strength and weakness.)

TEACHER-MADE GRADING RUBRICS, ASSESSMENTS, & ACTIVITIES

In order to meet the needs of all diverse learners sometimes the best materials are those created by their teachers with their specific needs in mind.

  • Cross Curricular Center Work                                                                         (Plate Tectonic Lesson observed by Tennessee Teacher Ambassador who tweeted about her experience in our room)

  • Rubrics (Traits & Heredity Comic Rubric, and Cell Cookie Rubric)

  • Assessments (Modified WB Page, Modeling Division)

  • Activities (Reduce-It, Building Numbers)
